2 Korean Beauty Trends That Have Taken the World By Storm

For years and years beauty gurus have focused on makeup looks that accentuate or even completely change their look. From a natural look consisting of numerous steps to make you look facetuned, to an extreme makeover like the drag queens do- the beauty industry has seen it all. Today however, with people going gaga over Korean fashion, and makeup, the industry has been shook from the core.
These are some of the trends that have become popular all over the world thanks to korea:

Gradient lip:

Concentrating the lip colour on the inside rather than applying it evenly on the lips to create an ombre look is something that has recently gotten popular.

Korean makeup trend has inspired many artists to come up with other designs as well, for example inverted ombre, and multiple lip colours to come up with an entirely new look. While the korean trend leans towards looking naturally pretty, western makeup has taken the same technique to introduce to the beauty community beautiful versions of their idea of ombre.
Skincare:

Now skincare is something that people never really looked at before as something that should be performed religiously. There was a time when frequenting tanning salons and lathering yourself in tanning lotions was all the rage. In 2018, however, that trend has been pushed back to irrelevance. Nourishing your skin with appropriate amount of organic and inorganic elements in order to keep it youthful and glowing has become a thing of absolute importance.

The ten step korean skincare routine has really struck a chord with people as more and more embrace this elaborate procedure in order to have a better skin.

Today the “ten step skin care routine” is very popular.

The first step, double cleansing, involves using an oil-based cleanser that helps on remove makeup. As more and more makeup products become “water resistant”, it gets harder and more damaging for the skin to suffer at your hands when you try to scrub it out. That is why, more and more korean skincare routines have incorporated oil based cleansers that take off your makeup in one go.

Double cleansing, the second step, involves using a foam cleanser used to wash off the remaining pollutants off the face.

The third step, toning is used to provide relief to all the scrubbing your skin has gone through. A hydrating toner is a way of jumpstarting the hydrating process.

Using a sheet mask is important for those who wish to hydrate their skin even more deeply than the toner would have done. This step, however, can be used at a different step- depending on your preference. Some people treat sheet masks as an intense treatment session and use it in place of serums.

Essence or serums like hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate help in restoring the chemical imbalance as well as infusing those active ingredients which help in keeping the skin young and supple.

Eye cream and face cream is the last step which you apply sparingly all over your face in order to let your skin heal and get ready for the next day.
The best thing about Korean skincare routines is that you can customise them according to your preference and delete or add steps to the routine depending on how elaborate ytou want the routine to be.
